Software Engineering Manager, Continuous Deployment

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of and experience working with distributed systems and architecture.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

In this role, you will be responsible for building a platform where users can deploy their server-side changes reliably, frequently, and safely. You will work with a cross-functional team that is responsive to customer feedback. You'll get exposure to the wide variety of integration and architectural challenges, as our user base keeps growing. You'll get visibility from senior stakeholders from several product areas, as we cater to Google-wide engineering population.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 8-10 engineers.
  • Ensure product delivery, career growth, and team health.
  • Be responsible for development and delivery of the wide set of features requested by the customers.
  • Work with peers in other Google sites globally on tactical and strategic direction of the rollouts product.
  • Engage with the customers and help them to adopt our products as they become de-facto standard for Google production management.
