Software Engineer

Candidate with 8+yrs of Experience in Full Stack Backend software development with Java/J2EE & GraphQL with knowledge of cloud platforms preferably GCP.

Expertise in GraphQL is required.

• Coordinate and work on the delivery of application features using industry best-practices and technologies that have been designed and developed by a team of software engineers.
• Take ownership and responsibility for the Product Team Backlog alignment and delivery commitments while working alongside key individuals: Product Manager, Portfolio/Solution Architects Digital Platform Engineering and Business Customers to deliver working, tested software.
• Ownership of Technical delivery of the user stories planned in Sprint (Rally)
• Lead by example: Backlog refinement, refactoring, sizing, and prioritization of the Product Backlog
• Lead effective execution of key Product Team Ceremonies: Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Retrospectives, Demos, Portfolio Updates as described by Product Org best practices.
• Lead Release Planning in alignment with the portfolio roadmap for the FCE Dealer product team.
• Ensure appropriate controls and technical documentation is created and maintained.
• Co-ordinate production support incidents, manage prioritization and regularly update key stakeholders impacted.

B.E / BTech in Computer Science with 8+yrs of Experience in software development with Java/J2EE & GraphQL with knowledge of cloud platforms preferably GCP.

Expertise in GraphQL is required.

Essential:

• 8+ years Software Engineering experience with current industry tooling.
• Good command of Product Org Backlog management with associated tooling and best practices (Rally / Jira)
• Deep technical skills: Hands-on coding, debugging knowledge in Java,J2EE,Spring boot microservices, Postgress, Redis, GraphQL with knowledge of cloud platforms preferably GCP.
• Strong team leadership: Mentorship, code reviews, support.
• Proactive risk management: Identifying and mitigating technical risks.
• Delivery focus: Meeting sprint goals, high-quality code.
• Positive team attitude: Collaboration, knowledge sharing & Effective communication and ability to work in a large diverse team.
• Practical understanding / usage of version control systems (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD tools (Cloud Build, Tekton)

 

Desired:

• Software engineering or development experience in a regulated, financial environment
• Demonstrated evidence of application of Ford Credit Security & Control practices / Ford ISP standards
• Understanding of current architecture standards and digital platform services strategy
• Experience working with and managing Senior Stakeholder expectations and delivering against a strategic road map within a product organization.
• Experience of coaching and mentoring software Engineers in Product Org practices and tools
• Experience of Software Engineering Craftmanship techniques and best practices
