Software Engineer

  • Help build the next generation of systems behind Meta’s products and services, build high-volume scalable servers
    and proxies using modern transport protocols to support content and create web and or mobile applications that reach
    over two billion people.
  • Harness passion for technology and undergraduate-level knowledge, and help build highlyscalable performant solutions.
  • Develop undergraduate-level knowledge of algorithms and core computer science
    concepts and ability to apply knowledge to real world systems with support and guidance from direct supervisor.
  • With
    solutions provided by a supervisor utilize ability to apply them to production problems and contribute to architectural
    decisions.
  • Employ general knowledge across the following areas: programming languages, networking, transport
    protocols, operating systems, databases, and data processing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor’s (or foreign equivalent ) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Requires completion of one undergraduate-level course, one research project, or one internship involving the following skills:
  • 1. C, C++, C#, or Java
  • 2. Python, PHP, or Haskell
  • 3. Relational databases and SQL
  • 4. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
  • 5. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation and simple commands
  • 6. Building highly-scalable performant solutions
  • 7. Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction
  • 8. Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability.
  • 9. Filesystems, server architectures, and distributed systems
  • 10. Debugging or benchmarking
  • 11. Building tools, linting and formatting of the codebase
  • 12. Building intuitive systems in at least one of the following: Java, PHP, C++, or JavaScript technologies such as ReactJS or AngularJS
  • 13. Working with code bases building micro services, REST APIs, and GraphQL
  • 14. Modelling data flows between systems to enable transactional workflows and upstream or downstream integrations.

$214,032/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
