Software Engineer 2

We are the COSINE Servicing and Delivery (CSD) organization, which is a part of C+AI’s Core Operating System, Intelligent Cloud, and Intelligent Edge division. Our core mission is to keep customers protected and productive by delivering a seamless and timely servicing experience for our customers in existing and future versions of Windows.  

Our Cross-Platform Currency (CPC) team is responsible for creating the tools and processes that keep Windows up to date, ensuring that users have the most up-to-date features and security possible. We are looking for highly motivated Software Engineers to help reimagining of traditional update systems and processes, as well as the redesign of updates from the ground up shifting to a modern, scalable, Azure-based solutions.

• Contribute to all phases (design, prototype, implement, test) of our modern, scalable, cloud-based update creation service.
• Debugs live-site issues to ensure availability and delivery of updates. 
• Perform root cause analysis of key issues to learn and implement solutions.  
• Working cross-team to integrate with partner teams and their systems. 
• Recognize manual work to propose and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of the team. 
• Understand requirements and create complete design specifications. 
• Prioritizing your collection of work and delivering fixes in a timely fashion to meet deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, C#, SQL, ASP.NET,PowerShell, Perl.
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Knowledge of Azure technologies (Service Fabric, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Storage) and Microsoft Stack (C#, SQL, ASP.NET)
• Experience with relevant programming and scripting languages (PowerShell, Perl)
• Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications.
• Experience in working with micro-services architecture.
• Experience in building and maintaining a mature service - CI/CD, scalability, reliability, incident management
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies.

Other Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven design and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality and engineering excellence.
• Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to work well in a diverse, global, team-focused environment.
• Demonstrated results working with a global team
• Experience in UX (JS, Angular etc.) is a plus.
