Senior Software Engineer, Android

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience with Android application development.
  • 3 years of experience with Android application development and with Kotlin/Java tech stack (C++ and Rust).
  • Experience with Android development (especially OS or Pixel).
  • Experience with mobile development and systems like device platforms, API development, or infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with search and large language models.
  • Experience with ChromeOS, iOS, or other platforms.
  • Experience in the development and deployment of machine learning models.
  • Experience with infrastructure that is used by other teams for application development, either on mobile or in the cloud.

Responsibilities
  • Solve ambiguous, challenging, and impactful problems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex problems at the intersection of devices, personalization, privacy, and agentic AI solutions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of new features and capabilities within the Multi-device Data Infrastructure (MDI) team.
  • Stay up-to-date on new research and developments in the rapidly evolving GenAI and privacy spaces.
  • Mentor and develop other team members, fostering a collaborative environment and high-quality engineering practices.
