Performance and Capacity Engineer, Fulfillment
Meta is seeking a Performance and Capacity Engineer to join the Capacity Team to focus on site-wide capacity management and fulfillment, system building and tooling development. This person would be required to work cross-functionally with a number of teams to ensure optimal operation and growth of our computing resources from both a cost and technology perspective. Tens of billions of user requests, hundreds of petabytes of data, thousands of giga bps of network flow. Help build one of the largest Internet services in the world! $117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

- Develop tooling and automation and optimize for capacity accounting, resource management and infrastructure operations
- Plan and fulfill the largest server and data center capacity: support Meta capacity planning and fulfillment work for its infrastructure
- Work with Product Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to find the optimal way to scale one of the largest infrastructure in the world
- Solve capacity-related issues and work with systems, network, application operations and engineering teams to discover resolutions
- Tackle and analyze operational issues in Meta鈥檚 infrastructure
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Experience with software development practices such as source control, code reviews, unit testing, and debugging
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- 2+ years of experience in coding and scripting languages such as Python (preferred), C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, or Perl. Database experience.
- Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge
- Experience working with distributed systems at scale
- Understanding of infrastructure capacity management tools and processes
- Experience working on ambiguous problems and managing uncertainty
- Demonstrated experience in listening to clients and customers in order to drive positive impact
