Network Engineer, Deployment & Support

Meta Platforms is looking for an individual contributor role on the global edge, backbone and data center network deployment leadership team. This team is responsible for deploying one of the world’s largest complex edge (CDN, Compute, IP) and Transport networks. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of networking at Facebook.Network Engineer, Deployment & Support Responsibilities

• Ensures six month to multi-year roadmaps are created in alignment with business strategy and transformational goals. Involved in a wide range of wide activities that require strategic direction, analysis, and also direct hands-on project leadership.
• Support multiple stakeholder organizations by understanding, anticipating, and influencing business outcomes. Exhibit proactive communication and think with a product and customer mindset.
• Drive problem management initiatives to solve complex issues that span multiple organizations. Initiatives exist globally across technical infrastructure reliability, policy, security, compliance, and business strategy.
• Help drive and align on workflow management tooling requirements - efficiency and automation roadmaps.
• Leverage a data driven approach to influence business and network health metrics.
• Manage key vendor relationships including contract negotiations, pricing, and evaluation of current and potential partnerships.
• Manage partner engineering team relationships to enable the team(s) to effectively meet business needs.
• Help develop and maintain resource plan modeling across direct teams.
• Provide input to the scaling and evolution of the team to meet the projected network demands.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience in multiple technology disciplines with extensive experience in Network Deployment, Vendor and Workflow Management.
• Network Deployment knowledge of IP, Transport and CDN Networks Technologies and Service Management functions.
• Working knowledge of field-based work in 3rd Party Network Collocation Facilities
• Time management and program management skills: experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within a constrained time schedule.
• Cross-functional leadership skills: experience in communicating risks and action plans to stakeholders and leadership.
• Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration across cross-functional team of key stakeholder management and business leaders.
• Resourceful, action-orientated with the experience in getting things done and overcoming obstacles and developing solutions to problems.
• Experience applying a broad and comprehensive understanding of multiple network functional areas and their underlying business principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of various scripting languages
• Experience with process improvement and systems development, leveraging automation to streamline repetitive workflows.
• Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning models

$161,000/year to $225,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
