Image Sensor Engineer (ALS/Flicker)
The XDO Image Sensors team is looking for an image/optical sensor engineer to drive ambient light/flicker sensor programs from requirements through production release for ground-breaking products across our Wearables and Metaverse product lines. The role requires a good understanding of system requirements and use-cases and driving optimal tradeoffs between user needs and implementation constraints. The Ambient Light Sensor/Flicker engineer will coordinate other members of the image sensor team, including characterization and application engineers and work with a cross-functional team of system, electrical, optical, physical design, firmware, software and image quality engineers to define solutions and solve challenging integration problems.Image Sensor Engineer (ALS/Flicker) Responsibilities
$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

- Directly responsible for sensor selection, implementation and system integration, coordinating with other members of the Image Sensor team as needed.
- Translate system requirements into sensor specifications and identify optimal solutions, identifying trade-offs between off-the-shelf and custom solutions.
- Work with a large cross functional team to ensure a sound imaging architecture and flawless integration of image sensors into the final product.
- Lead and collaborate with internal or external partners to develop novel sensor solutions to meet future Reality Labs sensor needs.
- Work with vendors to align and influence their sensor roadmaps.
- BS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in CMOS Imaging/ Electro Optical Systems.
- Understanding of image sensor design: pixels, analog readout and serial interfaces.
- Experience defining sensors based on system requirements and integrating those sensors into complex systems.
- Experience collaborating with large cross functional teams.
- Experience with ambient light and flicker sensors.
- Understanding of sensor application circuits and related implementation issues.
- Understanding of digital and image signal processing.
- Experience with factory testing of optical/image sensors.
