Electrical Engineer, Reality Labs Silicon

As an Electrical Engineer on the Wearable Team, you will design, build, and test prototype electrical systems for future consumer experiences within Meta’s Product Portfolio. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through fast iterative prototyping. You will work cross-functionally with teams that will dynamically change depending on the problem and potentially include mechanical, optical, firmware, software. We want people who work well in teams, can take a board definition and implement with electrical system development, and can transition these designs into a high-volume consumer products.
We are looking for system or board level Electrical Engineers with experience in high volume consumer products or developing technology leading prototypes to inform Reality Lab’s roadmap. You should have experience in developing mixed domain high-speed and high power circuit boards, consumer product form factor design, troubleshooting at the board and system level, and should have familiarity with consumer product development processes. • Support the electrical system development, qualification and system integration from the concept phase to mass production
• Design schematics, direct board layout, conduct design reviews and draft design documentations
• Manage hardware bring-up and debug
• Support manufacturing and assembly build. failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving across the various project phases
• Work closely with suppliers to influence their roadmap ensure their deliverables can match the product roadmap
• Effective communication, collaboration and partnership with colleagues, cross-functional partners in evolving development environments
• Collaborate in a team environment and work across engineering disciplines to develop systems and manage trade offs across electronics, mechanics, optics, sensors, firmware and software

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of system design or consumer electrical system design
• Bachelor or above degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field
• Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
• Experience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD or equivalent
• Experience with use of oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generators
• Experience working with one of these technologies: digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC and PMIC, or Battery Management System

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry experience in electrical design
• Experience in delivering high volume consumer products or similar experience
• Experience with high speed signaling over MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, PCIe, USB SS and UFS
• Experience with display electrical subsystem design/testing/implementation and system integration, display validation and testing including manufacturing test
• Experience with circuit design in high speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and programmable logic based development
• Experience with analog/mixed signal IC design, fabrication, and validation process
• Hands on experience with lab equipment setup, testing, and signal analysis
• Experience with SI/PI fundamentals and simulations

$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
