Data Center Operations Continuous Improvement Engineer
Meta is seeking a Global Operations Continuous Improvement Engineer to support the global Site Operations community in delivering strong operations in the areas of data center operations. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure efficiently operates, and our innovative services are delivered.
The Global Operations Continuous Improvement Engineer will provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise to drive continuous improvements in the quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of our operations through the use of Lean Six Sigma structured problem-solving methodologies. The successful candidate will partner closely with field and engineering teams to deliver the conception, scoping, development, deployment, and validation of operations improvement projects. In addition, expectations include the teaching of lean mindset and six sigma methods and tools across the global SiteOps community.Data Center Operations Continuous Improvement Engineer Responsibilities
$157,000/year to $218,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

- Driving continuous improvement through data-driven problem solving, data analytics and applied statistical techniques, partnering with team members across the globe.
- Act as a key Subject Matter Expert on Lean tools and techniques – teaching, coaching and mentoring other team members in Lean Six Sigma methods and tools
- Drive organizational change towards a proactive data-driven operation across the global footprint of data centers.
- Mentor, coach and develop others on how to solve problems using data analytics
- Assist teams in developing clear, comprehensive problem statements and appropriate experiments to drive improvement
- Recommend metrics and measures and the methods for collecting and analyzing data to ensure actionable signals provided.
- Create new training modules and/or classes to continue to support SiteOps growth and evolution in delivering strong operational and data based decision making.
- Champion SiteOps organizational learning techniques and tools to ensure we are adapting quickly to community and partner needs.
- Drive operational benchmarking to ensure we are looking ahead and considering all options and perspectives.
- Identify and eliminate sources of variation and inefficiency using Lean Six Sigma structured problem-solving methodology
- Lead and perform analyses such as process and/or value stream mapping, root-cause, risk, Effort versus Impact, prioritization, ROI, and requirements data gathering
- Facilitate change and lead deployment, adoption and sustainability of Lean approaches
- BS in engineering, science or related field
- Black Belt Certification or equivalent practice at scale
- Proven data analytics skills including effective use of descriptive statistics and regression analysis
- 10+ years of operations experience in an operations environment
- Comprehensive understanding of Six Sigma quality tools/methods and proficiency with statistical analysis packages (e.g., Minitab and/or JMP)
- Understanding of the value and application of Lean Six Sigma
- Demonstrated teaching and coaching skills with experience influencing without formal authority
- Communication, presentation, conflict resolution and facilitation skills
- Experience performing complex tasks, prioritizing multiple projects, organize and follow through consistently and work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience formulating the right KPIs and drive improvements through appropriate analysis followed by impactful initiatives with measurable results
- Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Master Black Belt Certification
- M.S. in Engineering Management or an MBA is preferred
- Experience with data center environments
