ASIC Engineer, Accelerator Systems
The Infra Silicon team at Meta is responsible for designing and building in-house hardware accelerator Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) to enhance Meta's computing with superior capacity and efficiency at lower power and cost. The team focuses on creating domain-specific System on Chips (SoCs) that enable Meta's data centers to execute computationally-intensive workloads, such as video transcoding and AI/ML, with higher performance and lower energy consumption. They are organized into several key areas, including architecture & algorithms, design & micro-architecture, design verification, implementation & backend design, emulation/prototyping, and system on chip (SoC), which collaborate extensively with other teams to deliver comprehensive solutions for various technical domains.ASIC Engineer, Accelerator Systems Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Linux device drivers/kernel modules, user-space drivers, user-space libraries and APIs, system services and daemons to support the ASIC
- Develop diagnostics tools to troubleshoot and debug issues with the ASIC and related software components
- Optimize and benchmark the performance of the ASIC and related software components
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand the ASIC architecture and design
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate the ASIC into the overall software stack
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Linux kernel development and related technologies
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and/or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience in Linux systems development and C/C++ programming
- Experience of developing diagnostic/telemetry tools and RAS features
- Experience with Linux kernel internals, device drivers, and kernel modules
- Experience with user-space driver development and API design
- Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware design principles
- Experience with performance optimization and benchmarking
- Experience with AI accelerator ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits)
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Experience with performance optimization and benchmarking
- Experience of developing RAS (Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) features for a product
- Problem-solving skills and independent work
